It is already starting to happen. Every day I see more evidence of our undoing. We’ve talked about the negative in the world and how it is highlighted every day for us to see. We have become a society that lives for “bad news”.
Someone is orchestrating all of this. There is no way there can be that many people in our country that want us to fail…….. is there?
Who would want to try and distract us from being kind to each-other?
Who would want to take us away from feeling at peace and happy?
Who would want to make us think we are alone in our fight?
Who would want us to think the world we live in can’t be fixed?
Who would want us to fail?
Here we are just 5 days from celebrating the greatest gift we ever received; and we are distracted. The biggest news today isn’t about some of the amazing things we are doing to celebrate Jesus’ birth. It isn’t about all the lost people out there trying to erase Christmas. It’s not about the young girl who started a charity to help kids who considered taking their own lives. It’s not about a good Christian family who travels all over the country leading bible study, preaching, and talking to more people about God than most of us ever will.
The story today is about a bible verse, and how one man answered a question about what he considers sin. The reason it is a story is because it involves people who are Christians. They are people who share God’s word and “try their best” to live by a good example. Others know we won’t read the entire article of this interview, because that would take too much time. The days of looking at everything in its proper context are long gone.
Son, we have an extreme lack of focus as a people. We don’t take the time to dig into anything. We live on snippets and quotes. It takes too long to do the research or read the whole article. Someone out there knows we are like this, and they are taking advantage of it.
We are being distracted from following God’s plan for us for a reason. Our enemy is causing us to lose focus on what is important. How can we change this? How can we stop the news from dictating what we believe? How do we get the focus back on the birth of Jesus?
P.S. The bible verses below tell you who is ultimately responsible for ensuring something Phil Robertson said ended up distracting us for focusing on God and his son Jesus.
11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
