Son, I am so incredibly proud of you! I don’t think I could be more proud of you than I am right now! Do you know that you fill me with so much pride that anytime I talk to someone about our journey and my writing, I have to fight to hold back the tears? I can’t remember a time in my life that I have felt like this.
Your recent conflict at school where you were asked by your teacher about a friend’s behavior was handled perfectly! You “stepped up and told the truth” as your teacher said, it was not an easy thing to do. You will face many more situations like that. The years ahead in junior high and high school will test you even more.
You made a difference; you are starting out your journey on the right road! Try to remember how good you felt when you read your teacher’s email to your mom below:
“Zach is such a great young man. I know it was a tough spot he was in and I cannot tell you how impressed I am with his honesty and big heart. He is going to do great things in the future”.
You can give a lot of people hope by just one act of honesty. Your teacher, your parents, your grandparents, and other kids can be affected by someone who cares like you do. If you lead by example, others will follow.
